Children and teens have the opportunity to take part in free TV and Film acting classes this coming Saturday.

The open day, hosted by Pauline Quirke Academy of performing arts, is for anyone aged 4 to 18. The free event takes place on Saturday 10th March and offers kids and parents the chance to meet the team and try out classes in Film, TV, and Musical Theatre.

PQA Thanet opened last May at the Charles Dickens School. Students receive tuition in Comedy and Drama for stage and screen.

Students also receive masterclasses led by industry professionals. Most recently stage combat and TV presenting workshops.

Last June, PQA had 36 students film the TV series The Tunnel at Dreamland. Crews filmed at Thanet locations over 15 days between March and July.

When not participating in television filming opportunities, students make lots of short films which will be shown at a local cinema.

PQA has their own talent agency – Quirky Kidz – which allows students who want to pursue professional acting work.

Find out more about the event on Facebook.
